Over hundreds of years ago in the
mountains of the northern region of Thailand,
the local tribe people found a remarkable bark that naturally peeled from the trunk of the all-broad leaves Saa tree at the end of every rainy season. So began the craft of making natural paper without cutting down the trees. This kind of paper was used to chronicle Buddhist scriptures and also used to record Thai philosophy and poetry.

The long fibers from Saa tree give all its products a unique texture that allows the villagers of northern Thailand to create a range of products including paper in sheets, paper in rolls, ribbons, lettersets, greeting cards, gift boxes, gift bags, artificial flowers, and many more. The villagers still dry the paper under the sun and use natural dyers to produce papers of different colors, which are completely ecologically sound. This is in contrast to the modern paper manufacturing process, which produce sharmful chemical wastes.
We have assembled a large and unique collection of products made from this remarkable and renewable source. We hope that you find these natural Saa paper products as enjoyable to use as we do in creating them for you.
